People often ask me how I feel..
When I am asked how I feel, I usually like to say, “Are you sure you want to know?” and they are taken back by that statement. To those that always feel ok or do not know the chronic pain / symptom struggle most of us look like everything is normal. Well normal on the outside is far from what we feel on the inside.
I have stood in meetings and customers feeling like I was going to pass out or have a major sewage spill. Nothing better than trying to suppress all the emotions and symptoms that go with IBS even when it is just as I like to call them “normal” symptoms. My normal symptom days probably equate to most peoples stomach flu days. I will not even get started today on prescription meds and how those “help” – I guess if feeling worse in many cases but able to make it though the day is helping, then they are great. But I have not met many if any prescription drugs that actually help and also do not have 100 side effects many worse than that days overall symptom count.
