I have purchased and read many books. Most tell the same story over and over with no real solutions. Healthy Gut, Healthy You does one thing most others fail to do and that is try to show all sides of the story in a more data driven way with actual science involved. I need evidence to make decisions about my health. This book gives you a lot of information (Possibly too much in some instances). Some have stated this book is yet another marketing aid for selling supplements (A huge issue in the Functional Medicine Model). Bad news people, all these books are an avenue for their writers to increase sales in products they recommend and work with. As for if this is some kind of social crime is to be debated as I personally would rather a Dr. be upfront and recommend items he has used and has had good results with than not to recommend anything and I have no basis for a starting point.

A recommended read, but as with all the books I have read, I read them to help me add things to try and rarely expect instant success. So it is another arrow in your quill toward trying to get better.

On my book rating scale of 1 being “Still Sick” to 10 “It Cured Me!” – I give this book a 7 for the huge level of information it has given me to try and test for my specific case.
